Cooking (and eating) is a pretty huge deal in my family. We've held on to recipes from generations ago, and each member of the family is always coming up with fantastic dishes that live on in legend. I decided to put together a collection of the most popular recipes we use in a sort of universal cooking compendium, so that each family member could have their own Emery Family Cookbook as a handy kitchen reference. The thing I love most about this book is how it helps keep such a deep and varied tradition alive. The Plum Pudding recipe comes from our roots in the UK, the Meat Pie recipe is from my Mom's French Canadian side, and the Key Lime Pie comes to us from a distant southern relative. It's a great mix full of special family history that I've known and loved since I was a kid.
